Transformation (A Poem)

Lost and broken, the delicate butterfly mossied on
She was once transformed and strong
Once blossomed–
Yet, now she has returned to that caterpillar state
She just wants to cocoon
And hide–wait until the next change
in nature
But no–she must rebuild that broken wing
Rebuild that power
And fly again
Transform again
It won’t be easy
She sees the big eagle and calls to him, “you have your stature”
She sees the lion and calls, “you have your roar”
But she realizes those are all excuses
All she needs; she has inside of herself
She doesn’t need to cocoon–to run or hide
She needs to rebuild and to embrace her power
It is time to transform
Again
